Are you a teacher, student teacher, LSA or home educating parent? Wish that you could easily find out what resources, trip opportunities and support is available to you from cultural, arts and heritage venues around the city? Well we have the solution!
Gloucester Education Brochure

We have produced a new Gloucester City Education Brochure, detailing the best of outside of the classroom education within the city centre, up to date contact details and information about the history of the city.
The brochure is arranged subject by subject. Some subjects, such as History, are broken down into different topics. Packed in alongside information about what different places can offer.
There’s everything from:
- object handling
- role play opportunities
- scientific explorations
- trails, walks and tours
- trips out to venues and through the streets of Gloucester
- digital resources
- object handling loan boxes
- book boxes
- information to allow you to take your class out with confidence to unmanned venues to explore them
There is also some information about why Gloucester is such a good and inspirational place to study certain topics. (Little hint here – We were a Roman city with seriously high status, have Saxon streets you can still walk down and more visitable Medieval buildings than you can shake a stick at!
The brochure also has a handy reference section with all the contact details of local organisations and a guide to their facilities to make booking your trips, services and outreach that little bit easier.

Aethelflaed Educational Pack

Aimed at upper KS2, the Aethelflaed Education Pack includes resources and activities all about Gloucester’s Anglo-Saxon Warrior Queen.
Written by local teacher, Alyson Meredith, and illustrated by Kate Sheppard, the pack was created in 2018 as part of a city-wide programme to celebrate the life of this influential but often overlooked female leader 1,110 years after her death.
Over 50 copies have been distributed to Gloucestershire teachers, libraries, students and residents and more copies downloaded online.
If you would like to request a hard-copy, please email us at hello@gloucesterculture.org.uk
